Southern Lakes Anthology Writing Contest
Students in participating districts can submit one of three types of writing--poetry, prose, or illustrated writing--for possible inclusion in the Southern Lakes Anthology.
Every spring, Whitewater TAG members select a theme for the following year's anthology. Entry deadlines are set by each school's gifted and talented coordinators. The top 24 submissions from each district are judged at a Whitewater TAG meeting in January.
The entries are scored using a rubric, and the best are chosen to be included in the anthology. The published artists are invited to a recognition ceremony at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the Young Auditorium where they receive a complimentary copy of the anthology.

West Side Anthology:
West Side School will have their own anthology published and distributed to the 70 students (grades 3-5) whose work was submitted for our local judging. This local anthology is a delightful collection of students’ writing and art. A copy can be found in our school library. This project is thanks to the many high school students in Mr. Byington’s classes, West Side’s classroom teachers, Mrs. Busch, and our GATE Coordinator, Mrs. Supernaw.
